so the
gig tonight is Katy Perry’s Bday party…I don’t think I better give
out the theme(probably a surprize)…Last Saturday the Playboy Mansion gig for Mopars was a
blast…300 beautiful (and scantily clad) girls and 300 old hot rod
collectors and builders. MiniMe
is some babe magnet but the girls all posed for photos with me
too…Hey maybe someone will send me some photos and I will post. Hef
didn’t come out while I was there(probably hates posing for photos) and
of course some girls got naked in the pool. I think next time I will
perform in the Grotto with them(”of course I will keep my armour on….never take it off…why I would be vulnerable”…so spoke The Grand Manipulator
Yep, Yes sir I won the Los Angeles Art Association Competition with my flying Rhino. LAA/ Gallery 825(la Cieniga)Juried by David Pagel, LA TImes Art Critic.
Great response! Women and children were left speachless and men humbled stared at their shoes. I think that as a performer who for many years lived in the traditional classical world of music and then found the real and immediate effect of live performance when done on street. If I did not emotionally blow everyone away I was not going to feed my family. My art has the same effect. In your face with love, violence, romance, heroism and ecstasy.
Yahoo! I was the opener for the huge Alzheimer’s Benefit-”Keep Memory Alive”. The Canadian Michael Buble was the headliner(I just say that……out of humble generosity of course) I just sent Drops of Jupiter to the Producer to work out the routine with my Ballerinas and they did a fantastic job. An extraordinary party every one was there, Wolfgang, Emeril, Maria Shriver, Frank Gehry, and of course me!
I had the honour of performing for the Marriott Masters at the Conde Nast Gold List as one of the greatest hotels in the world the Renaissance Esmeralda. The Marriott Masters were 250 event planners who had spent over 5 mill a year at Marriott properties! Yahoo, my perfect audience.
What a fabulous casino! Beautiful art, waterfall, shopping, etc,. And what a fun gig. I did two short sets with rear screen projection(my film from Malta and European castle shots mixed with the live feed) and my friend and 2nd half of our duo album Peace of Our Minds, was the MC.
Marston’s Live show along with the Battle of the Bands, Lover’s COve, Bourbon Street, Club Carnivale of Freaks, and thousands of masked wild screaming party animals, and society sophisticates(I guess I made that last part up)Ticketmaster or 714 241-9055 for more information. No entrance without mask or costume!…..Well not really but I want you to be part of the happening. The update is that I perform 7-10pm…..so I think we are going to try a grand entrance with the Dragon Knights(stilt performers riding creatures) and then I would play a long set, take a break and then do the last set with the Dragons again for the parade exit. Carnivale link
I only wish we could do this gig at Israel’s National museum in Jerusalem. Full of 10,000 year old artifacts from Africa, the Americas, Oceania and the Far East. But I will bet ya that they have no Medieval Battle Armours…..(I am an avid collector……my upstairs is wall to wall….an armory)
4000 people from all over the world. 200 musicians and entertainers. I almost closed the event down….the police came and had my turn down the volume…..
So I blessed the sea thrice and my mount and I walked on water.
The first time my electric cello was heard in the jungle. Nosara, located in the North Pacific near Playa Guiones is the site for this concert. Costa Rica is beautiful along with the people and I am thinking of living there but I worry that my armor will rust.
1st time for me and Bermuda was both beautiful and customs was extreme, each piece of sound gear needed a visa and a bond.Where I performed….the Dockyard, was a fantastic fortress, museum, and dockyard shown here. There are these great old buildings all over that are empty and with the 30million expansion of this area for cruise ships and tourism…….this could be a perfect location for a famous sculptor to hang out in his studio/gallery and talk to tourist as he sculpts away. Problem I see is that it is far from Malibu and tourist would want normal bronze pieces, dogs, kids, golfers, etc,. …… I would probably do sea gods and mermaids!
Orange County Performing Art Center, and I still am working on the DVD! The live clip at lordofthecello.com is from the show.I love the scroll Headdresses and wings on my stiltwalkers….it is an epic mood as they stroll through the Martian landscape.
A fantastic concert with Native Americans from South and North Americas. I took my daughter Hallie in order to sell cd’s and felt odd that we were the only blonds(mine is mostly out of the bottle and I have no idea about Hallie’s) My grandmother was raised and schooled at the Cherokee Seminary for Women on the reservation in Oklahoma Territory. She would tell me stories about my Great Great Great Grandfather, Chief Bushy Hair! I am so glad he was bushy! My show was a hit and what a relief. I used a rear screen projection system and had great battle scenes going as I performed. I entered playing from the back of the auditorium in my armor and it was dramatic. As it was, it was quite the eclectic show with performance as diverse as acient Aztec and Reservation Blues.
What a beautiful setting. I dress as a Highlander and play a lot of Celtic. A important reminder—Ladies who drink to much wine love to take a peek under a man’s kilt. I do get tired of explaining what I have under my kilt!
Boy, do I love XLCapitol. Paying me for a 10minute gig in such a fabulous city like Berlin. It blew my mind with its frantic construction of colossal Classic Empire buildings. My oldest son who was living in Budapest came to visit, along with my German friend Steffi and all here girlfriends. We went to the DISCO and danced the entire night…..boom boom boom boom…..the next day Hampton and I barely made it to the Helmut Newton museum. I was so completely pissed that I did’nt meet him and know him because his last few years(before his deadly auto accident) was right here in LA and Palm SPrimgs. The two places that I live in most
Always a blast performing with John and hanging with Lisa. The fun is traveling with these celebrities and discovering how gracious they can be with the public….even when exhausted from the RedEye LA to Philly. Our album Peace of Our Minds did a #13 on Billboard!!!!
…was a blast. I perfomed on the outside patio of the Honolulu Hyatt as the waves crashed. Then inside I did a dinner set. I also did a bit of a show were I told heroic and funny bits from Shakespear and films. They ate it up even though I am in a radical costume(gold armor) Many have seen me before at these events
In armor,I entered the event with a Roman Legion and we marched up to a small stage in the center of the great hall. Models in chaimaile bikins were posing on columns. I later did a Ultra Louge set with a DJ mixing our two sounds until the B-5’s started their set
