Marston’s wife Heidi joins him for his WCMA Instrumentalist of the Year Award.

Short History

Marston was encouraged to play cello early in his life by his parents and he won may music awards in school and in college he had the opportunity to perform the Haydn Cello Concerto in D with an orchestra. Quite the thrill to be in front of an orchestra he wrote a comedy cello concerto based on Haydn’s called the Hydrogen Cello Concerto and performed this with symphony orchestras. He was contracted to play in the big Hollywood film“The Jazz Singer” that starred Neal Diamond and this lead to years as a Hollywood studio musician with the Sid Sharp Strings and with Charles Veal’s string sections for Motown records.
100’s of movies and records were recorded.

Marston is joined by Dez Fafara of DevilDriver and Al Jourgensen of Ministry at the Pasadena Rosebowl. Marston recorded with Ministry on their recent album that was up for a Grammy and will record with them in 2020 on their next album.


Marston also was placed on screen in many movies such as the time he played a Science Officer who plays cello in StarTrek Next Generation Sarek episode contracted by Johnny Olive.

Marston found that corporate events were a great opportunity for him and sends him all over the world to appear at their events., vegas, and festivals all over the world, opened for Michael Buble, B-52s, Don Henley, AirSupply and the Flaming Lips. Performs Art and Jazz festivals, Celtic and Highland events.


Last year recorded a new album with Ministry(one of the top metal bands in the world) and also. Al Jourgensen on the right is the founder of Ministry. Marston received the WCMA Instrumentalist of the Year Award. Recorded with everyone in the heyday of the Hollywood recording era….Neil DIamond, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Michael&Janet Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Melissa Manchester, Pointer Sisters, Elton John, and about two hundred other artist…. and corporate events for Google, Canadian National, Universal, NFL, PGA, Disney and Cirque du Soleil…..LATimes “Marston is the cello Master Blaster”


Marston has been in many motion pictures and television, here as a Science Officer on StarTrek New Generation “Sarek” episode. Crew member of the StarShip told Marston that it was his emotional cello playing that caused Vulcan ambassador Sarek to cry.
